Epitalon
A four-amino-acid peptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) studied for aging biology and telomeres. The evidence is laboratory work and small biomarker studies, and no adequately powered randomized trial has shown a benefit.

Epitalon requires a written prescription from a licensed clinician and is prepared by a licensed pharmacy for an individual patient. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved or evaluated for safety, effectiveness or quality. Evidence standards.
Start Your Assessment →What Is Epitalon?
Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide developed from the amino-acid makeup of epithalamin, an extract of the pineal gland. The two are chemically distinct, and evidence on one should not be assumed for the other.
In human cell lines it increases telomere length, through telomerase in normal cells and an alternative mechanism in cancer cell lines. That is a laboratory finding. It has not been shown to extend or improve human life, and the telomere effect raises a theoretical question about cancer that remains unanswered.
Good to Know
- Prescribed only after a clinician reviews your history.
- Dose and course are set by your clinician, not by you.
- Results vary, and we do not promise outcomes.
Who It Is For
Eligibility
Competitive Athletes
Many peptides are prohibited in sport, or fall under rules that change. A prescription does not establish sporting eligibility, so we ask about anti-doping rules before presenting any option.
Often a Good Fit If
- ✓Interested in longevity science and comfortable with no proven human benefit
- ✓A recent age-appropriate cancer screening history
- ✓Willing to complete baseline labs and a defined course
- ✓Open to stopping if there is no measurable or subjective benefit
Not Prescribed If
- —Pregnancy, breastfeeding, or actively trying to conceive
- —Active or recent cancer diagnosis, or a history your clinician judges to carry risk
- —Expecting a guaranteed or fast outcome rather than a considered trial
- —Any personal history of cancer, or a strong family history, unless your oncology team agrees
- —Prior serious hypersensitivity to epitalon or its excipients
Read Before You Decide
Key Risks, Stated Plainly
A 2026 preprint review notes that human pharmacokinetic, dose-ranging and dedicated safety studies are unavailable, and that telomere-maintenance effects raise theoretical, unresolved questions about long-term cancer risk. For that reason we exclude anyone with a cancer history. Epitalon sits on FDA's Category 2 safety-risk page, and FDA reviewed it through the 2026 compounding advisory process, which is not an approval.

A Clearer Path Forward
How Clinicians Review Your Response
You and Your Clinician Look at the Same Data
Symptoms you report, laboratory results and, if you connect one, wearable trends are reviewed together before any change.
A Physician-Led Review Every 90 Days
Included in your monthly price. Your clinician decides whether to continue, adjust the dose, change course or stop.
Clinical Judgment Decides
Measurements inform the decision. They do not make it, and no dashboard changes your dose on its own.
Your Care Sequence
01
Questionnaire
Share your goals, history and any sport or work rules in about ten minutes. No card required.
02
Video Visit
Your clinician reviews your history and medications, explains the evidence plainly, and decides whether this fits you.
03
Delivery
If prescribed, medication ships from a licensed pharmacy with supplies and written instructions.
04
Reassessment
A scheduled review decides whether to stop, extend or change course. Courses are not renewed by default.
Common Questions About Epitalon
Does Epitalon Lengthen Telomeres?+
In human cell lines it increased telomere length, through telomerase upregulation in normal cells and alternative lengthening in cancer cell lines. In a small experiment, blood cells from 7 of 11 people showed telomere changes when treated in a dish. That is not treatment of people.
Does It Extend Life?+
Not in humans that we know of. A 2026 preprint review reports that in female mice it did not increase mean lifespan but increased maximum lifespan by 12.3%. No adequately powered randomized human trial has established efficacy.
Is Epitalon the Same as Epithalamin?+
No. Epithalamin is a pineal extract and epitalon is a synthetic four-amino-acid peptide. Their evidence is not interchangeable.
Is Epitalon FDA-Approved?+
No. It is not an FDA-approved drug, and it appears on FDA's Category 2 safety-risk page.
Is It Available Through SOVRYN?+
Epitalon is prescribed only after a clinician reviews your history and decides it fits. Start with the assessment and your clinician will tell you what is and is not appropriate.

Published Research
What the Published Science Shows
7 of 11
People whose blood lymphocytes showed a relative telomere-length change when treated in a dish. It was not a human treatment study.
+12.3%
Increase in maximum lifespan in female mice, with no increase in mean lifespan, as reported in a 2026 review.
0
Adequately powered randomized human trials establishing efficacy, per that review.
Figures come from the cited trials and reviews. They describe published research, not a forecast for any one person, and not a study of compounded formulations.
The Mechanism
The Proposed Mechanism
Telomerase
In cell lines it raises hTERT and telomerase activity, which lengthens telomeres.
Neuroendocrine Effects
Preclinical work reports effects on melatonin synthesis and circadian rhythms.
Antioxidant Activity
Laboratory studies report antioxidant and tissue-protective effects.

What We Can and Cannot Tell YouEvidence and regulatory status+
What the Evidence Supports
Telomerase upregulation and telomere elongation in human cell lines, independently replicated in 2025, plus neuroendocrine and antioxidant effects in preclinical work.
What It Does Not (Yet)
No adequately powered randomized human trial, no human dose-ranging or dedicated safety studies, and unresolved questions about long-term cancer risk.

A review of 25 years of in vitro, in vivo and in silico work on the tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly. It notes it remains uncertain whether the proposed mechanisms are the only ones, and that structural and physico-chemical studies are limited.
